For most of us who grew up bombarded with non-biblical scientific view points, this book is a refreshing change. It's helped me to look at the Bible and the book of Genesis in a whole new light. And I like that the author takes care to provide illustrations in places where the technical jargon gets tricky. And there are plenty of footnotes/end-notes for those of us who want to dig deeper into this subject. I may buy another copy or two for friends and family!

This book is great! It’s a good introduction to creationist thought for where we stand currently. I wish we were to the point where geocentricity would be included, but that’s probably ten years or more away. D. Russel Humphries’ cosmological theories are okay, but I’d rather see some more rigorous models. Overall, though, this should serve as the gateway to creationism for a lot of people for years to come.

This book is an excellent book for people questioning what evidence there really is for evolution, and why Christians, particularly Creationist Christians maintain strong faith in the God of Israel, the God the Bible, and in Jesus Christ His Son.

AWESOME BOOK!! HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!

Would recommend this book immediately to anyone, like me, who had not looked at the evolution/creation debate in years. I was amazed at the advances in the science that points to creation.

A good resume and explanation of creation based science.

Turner's use of a FAQ format is annoying at best. The book reads as if it is collection of research notes, rather than a developed manuscript. Obviously well-researched, the book's value is greatly diminished by its format and lack of a comprehensive index.

While this book is naturally going to be of most interest to Illinois residents or tourists, any student interested in the Underground Railroad would benefit from the extensive background that Turner provides into the Underground Railroad in general as well as the stories about its leaders and the people who traveled it.Most of the book is written in the format of a very extensive FAQ, but with questions for the students to answer and references to further reading embedded in the text.While the reading level is at a middle school to high school sophomore level, older readers will still find the stories and the wonderful collection of archival photographs fascinating.The biggest weakness of the book is that it's written as an FAQ but the table of contents does not list the individual questions and answers. This is worsened by a very limited index that doesn't include many of the places or people who were mentioned only in passing. This is astonishing for an educational publishing house and would bring the book down half a star if Amazon allowed.

I love the commentary and the NKJV for this Bible. Very in-depth and full of truth. Nelson has updated it throughout the years. This time it's in "full color" yet the Word of Jesus are not in red. Why go through all the colored detailes and not have the Words of Jesus in red??!!

 Love the spacious wordings. Very comfortable for the eyes. Amazing & very insightful notes. Personally think that the pages are too thin. Overall very happy with my bible :’)THANK YOU JESUS!

The preview is spot on. I bought this book because I thought I would read it and I do. It's interesting because the element's description is 1-2 pages. It's short enough where you don't feel like you're reading a dull textbook. It's more similar to snippets from from a magazine summary. The colors pop on the pictures and cover. It's a likable and pretty book in person. I bought the hard copy because I saw this book at a store and I knew that I would love having this to flip through the pretty pictures or re-read a page here and there.

My 7 yo son is obsessed with the periodic table. He's memorized it in large part because of this book. While this is clearly meant for an adult audience, I am able to translate the text easily for my son. The pictures are wonderful. It is a great gift for any science lover or enthusiast hoping to learn more about the periodic table.

Love this book! Brought it to work and my fellow chemist immediately went on and ordered one. Big hit. Pictures are cool along with the awesome descriptions and/or history.

This book was a good read. Lots of fun stories about the experiences IDEO has had in practicing innovation. While it doesn't provide the silver bullet answer to your problems, it provides great tips on topics like brainstorming, and serves as a reminder that innovation is something that we should all make an effort to practice every day. I particularly enjoyed the sections where the stories offered up examples of finding inspiration in unexpected industries and locations. If you are in the business of building things, you should give this book a read. At times it felt like a bit too much of an advertisement for IDEO, but the good outweighs the bad.

You can't but help be interested in an inside look at Ideo. However, the author doesn't disclose any earth shattering ideas or proprietary practices of the firm. There's the obligatory kudos from from the likes of (smash everything that's standing) Tom Peters.Still, the stories of one invention after another are quite illuminating. I recommend you buy the book for the general background of a very inventive company, not for any specific techniques. That the book is printed on some really fancy ($$$) paper makes me think that this might have been designed to be a vanity book.I wished they had discussed more on the methods of market research. The author reports that IDEO's direct to the consumers themselves to observe and ask questions. No focus groups for them. I wish their exact techniques had been developed in much more detail. Otherwise, we are left to assume that the folks at IDEO just attack like Banshee's with no strategy, techniques or direction.When reading the book you will feel that you are right there working alongside the IDEO teams on a project... unfortunately they are probably all-nighters. Recommended for died-in-the-wool inventor and entrepreneurial types. I enjoyed it....

As a new Kindle owner, I get excited whenever I run across a Kindle version of a book I have been wanting to read. When I saw that this was available, I ordered it immediately, and began reading. This is especially timely for me, because my company has put together several "innovation teams" whose purpose is to review and recommend and implement changes to many aspects of the corporation. I was hoping to get a few ideas that I could pass along to the rest of my team.First of all, I have really enjoyed this book. True, there are a lot of high-level ideas and maybe not enough specifics, but a reader can't help but get a bit excited to read about an innovative operation such as IDEO's. I found myself remembering and longing for some better, more creative days in my employment past, and hoping for some truly innovative, exciting times in the future.That being said, my anal side gets a bit aggravated and distracted by the misspellings common to this and nearly all Kindle editions. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's sort of like that tiny rock in your shoe that just keeps moving around. Also, the photos at the beginning of each chapter didn't "translate" well to the Kindle. Most are dark, and some are almost unrecognizable and, consequently, do little to illustrate the text.I like having the book on my Kindle but, given another chance, I would probably buy the printed version.

Examples are quite dated in places. Has been updated in some parts with more recent examples, but not as currently relevant overall. At times it seems like more of an advertisement of IDEO's services than a guide to developing your own innovation.

Presented in a fun, readable fashion, the author pulls you through example after example illustrating the points he's making. Short chapters and shorter subsections make it an easy book to pick up and read a few pages of at a time. Book was decent, but there are better examples of this genre out there. I think a lot was lost in the translation. I’m sure in the original Chinese this is much better. The Cradle series by Will Wight uses many of these themes but is of western origin so I felt it flowed much better.

I suspected when I bought this that I would be reading about all sorts of people who think nothing of killing each other. And sure enough, they love to kill each other.What was probably my favorite part of the book was when the main character monologues something to the effect of: "Anyone who tries to take shortcuts are worthless and don't deserve to advance." And then in the very next paragraph, the main character takes a special pill and remarks at how glad he is that he has this to speed up his progress. LOL, dude, that's a shortcut.

If you are familiar with Chinese or Japanese (note to the author: take no offense at the comparison) fiction, the story flows very well. The main character goes through many changes but is far from overpowered even as he grows in strength since there is always someone stronger out there. Can't wait for him to get to the point that he is quoting Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken) "You are already dead"). Love this book, can't wait for the next release. Keep it up!

This is a good start of a series. Some grammar and spelling errors, but not enough to bother me. I enjoyed the world that is created and the system of cultivation. The battles are well done and the character stays true to his beliefs. I'm curious if the MC will stay with the clan after the " promise of ten years" is completed or if he will travel. Looking forward to the next book.

This is a fun book with great ideas. Nothing new or groundbreaking here, but if you like asian cultivation/martial arts books, this has nice little spins on it. Easily could have been 4 stars except for the writing itself. Yet, as with other translated books like this, I don't know if the blame lies with the author or if a lot is simply lost in translation.

Great book enjoyed the story but it ends like there is a second book but also don't know if I want to read the second book

This book is a great read. I love the concept of progressing through live in a systemic way. The story flowed very well with the characters developing naturally and not rushed. Each part of the story moved along well with each piece taking the right amount of space. You are not bored as there is constant action but not so much that it is chaotic. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

This was a really good start to a series. It has all the elements you expect with unique story. I like the fact it was published into ebook format. I hope there is going to more in this format because I prefer it to web novel version. The translation was also really good. There were not many mistakes. At least none that took away from the story.
