If I’d realized the stories weren’t for adults, I wouldn’t have bought it! But I give it five stars because, even given the target audience, the stories were, on the whole, very well written. I would have loved it when I was younger. As for me, I got about halfway through before I got tired of the young adult “romances”.From what I read, I personally wouldn’t have a problem with one of my children reading it, especially since the romances, such as they are, are basically the ending of the story with a boy and a girl realizing that they had a lot in common and, by the way, that the boy/girl was cute. Safe stuff.

Seldom does an anthology live up to its book jacket promises. Usually, the three or four good stories rise hesitantly up from a sea of mediocrity whose interest-destroying waves threaten to overwhelm them. This book is an outstanding exception. Every story is written by a master of the craft, and leaves you wanting to read more of that author's work. Highly recommended for any fantasy fan.

Confession...I've only read a few of these stories, not the entire collection. But the Gaiman and Martin stories alone are worthy of 5 stars. Worth the price of admission.Dunk and Egg is a great look back into the history of Westeros (although you'll want to read the first Dunk and Egg story first). Well written and fun.The story about Shadow in Great Britain is fantastic. IMHO, Gaiman may be the best post-modern writer in regard to beauty of prose.If nothing else, these two stories are worth the cost of the book.

If your looking for a way to read short stories from some of your favorite authors in science fiction and fantasy then this collection is for you. A lot of the stories aren't very good but the ones that are are worth owning.

Must have for all outlander fans

If you're like me, when you reach the end of a great fantasy series there is both satisfaction and a strange sadness. It's like saying good-bye for the last time to a favorite friend. This anthology let me embrace some of my favorite friends once again. It is an amazing collection of tales from some of my favorite fantasy worlds. Each author brings enriching new details to their well-crafted worlds. Some were worlds I have heard about quite a bit but I had thus far been reluctant to visit for one reason or another. Their tales here have convinced me to dive into them.

While not quite as good as the first,neither Jordan, King, Pratchett or Goodkind, two of my favorites contributed, it still has some very worthwhile short stories for some very interesting literary worlds. George Martin once again added a wonderful tale to the world of Song of Fire and Ice. "A Hedgeknight's Tale" was probably the best tale in the first Legends book and the story in Legends II is almost as good. Gaiman's short story for the "American God's" world is a must for fans. Card does a decent job and you'll want to read this story before reading "Chrystal City." Haydon's story is also good even if you've never read any of her other work.The only total bomb in this was McCaffrey's short story explaining what happens to dragons that become lost between. Even fans of the Pern novels should skip this one.

Good works from great authors. This is a great collection; I enjoyed every one of these imaginative and well spun stories.

This was recommended to me by a great friend. While it has lots of common sense advice, it includes some things you may not realize. Unfortunately, this book fits a more amicable type of situation where the parents co-parent and try to do what's right for the children they love. On the front of this book, it talks about providing the "other parent" with another copy so they can read it as well. If you're unfortunate to have to try to actually parent while the other parent decides to be toxic, this book won't provide enough help. I passed this one along to someone in a co-parenting divorce situation and she and her ex are making things work very well for their two young children.

After going through a nasty divorce with a man that has used every form of manipulation possible on both of my children and myself, I needed guidance. This book has been very helpful for me to try and understand what my children, ages 8 and 10, are going through and help them cope with their emotions and different situations. I would highly recommend getting this book and using it as a reference for those tough things that pop up. Particularly when "The Ex" is a total jerk.

Ok for Real, this is the book to get! and like the cover said, get one for your spouse also. its a normal worded book that makes logicial sence. we all need to read this book, EVEN IF YOUR NOT GETTING A DIVORCE! its reality based and full of good ideas that should be in the obvious category, but when your going threw these imposible times, its hard to see what way is up! this book put alot of what we are all feeling into perspective so it can be dealt with and not ignored!Do yourself a favor & get a few copies, just pass them out!this is a book to have in hard copy, not a kindle kind of read at all. =)THANKS A MILLION to all those other great reviews, thats what made me get it in the first place!GOD BLESS YOU ALL, and Good Luck!

Very helpful book easy to understand

Anyone who does any type of counseling with divorced parents needs this book for their children. It brings up topics and solutions that adults often overlook but their children may be struggling with. As a life coach, I recommend this to any adult going through divorce with children.

I read this when I first went through my divorce. I'd borrowed it from the library. Should've just purchased it, because as my kids grow, new issues arise. This is the best book EVER for parents explaining divorce to kids.

If you are just getting in to Audio Post Production. or your curiousity is just beginning to blossom, then this book will catch you up to speed on Audio Post Production for Film and Tv.. The author, Mark Cross, has lots of real world experience and details the fundamentals of the professional very clearly and in an easy to follow way.Anyone with any experience beyond beginner audio post production, will probably not get alot of use from the book. I only chose 3 stars because the book seemed to me a lesson in "an introduction to audio post production", as opposed to "How to be an audio post production engineer". If you start with knowing nothing, this book will get your feet wet and prepare you to seek more advanced information. Honestly, I think reading the post production forums on Gearslutz website would be more applicable and cover more information which was not included in this book. Like surround mixing, room set ups, speaker calibration, in depth deliverables etc.

Nice read, has a little history along with the basics of today. Glad I only bought the kindle version.

This is a very informative book with lots of practical information on the processes of working in post production. I would recommend that anyone wanting to understand how the film and television industry works, read this book. I will make good use of the information in this book for my continued understanding of working in film and post production...
