Book was decent, but there are better examples of this genre out there. I think a lot was lost in the translation. I’m sure in the original Chinese this is much better. The Cradle series by Will Wight uses many of these themes but is of western origin so I felt it flowed much better.
I suspected when I bought this that I would be reading about all sorts of people who think nothing of killing each other. And sure enough, they love to kill each other.What was probably my favorite part of the book was when the main character monologues something to the effect of: "Anyone who tries to take shortcuts are worthless and don't deserve to advance." And then in the very next paragraph, the main character takes a special pill and remarks at how glad he is that he has this to speed up his progress. LOL, dude, that's a shortcut.
If you are familiar with Chinese or Japanese (note to the author: take no offense at the comparison) fiction, the story flows very well. The main character goes through many changes but is far from overpowered even as he grows in strength since there is always someone stronger out there. Can't wait for him to get to the point that he is quoting Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken) "You are already dead"). Love this book, can't wait for the next release. Keep it up!
This is a good start of a series. Some grammar and spelling errors, but not enough to bother me. I enjoyed the world that is created and the system of cultivation. The battles are well done and the character stays true to his beliefs. I'm curious if the MC will stay with the clan after the " promise of ten years" is completed or if he will travel. Looking forward to the next book.
This is a fun book with great ideas. Nothing new or groundbreaking here, but if you like asian cultivation/martial arts books, this has nice little spins on it. Easily could have been 4 stars except for the writing itself. Yet, as with other translated books like this, I don't know if the blame lies with the author or if a lot is simply lost in translation.
Great book enjoyed the story but it ends like there is a second book but also don't know if I want to read the second book
This book is a great read. I love the concept of progressing through live in a systemic way. The story flowed very well with the characters developing naturally and not rushed. Each part of the story moved along well with each piece taking the right amount of space. You are not bored as there is constant action but not so much that it is chaotic. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
This was a really good start to a series. It has all the elements you expect with unique story. I like the fact it was published into ebook format. I hope there is going to more in this format because I prefer it to web novel version. The translation was also really good. There were not many mistakes. At least none that took away from the story.
