This overview of these cities is rather like a distillation of an online travel forum, a quick compilation of tips and background. Each city is covered with the basics of getting in and public transportation, a bit of history, a few recommended attractions, and a few recommendations against what the author considers tourists traps or potential negative experiences.If you're thinking idly about these destinations, this would be of interest to get a better sense of them, but it's no substitute for an in depth guide (nor does it intend to be one). It's more the equivalent of a water cooler chat with some who's been to these cities and has some good advice.
If you're going to go to the grocery store it's a good idea to have a list. If you're going to go to a place like Central Europe you BETTER have a plan! From Prague to Salzburg this book has your essential information on how to travel Central Europe in style. If you've never been I can't imagine taking the time to review a book like this in order to make the most of your trip (see the best sites etc.) and if you have been then this guide might open your eyes to some of the things you've missed. It definitely gave me insight into some of the details I know I had overlooked.
I've been always on the lookout for handy and brief guidebooks when planning to travel to new places. Inside I found an itineray of some sorts that I can use and follow when touring particular places in central Europe. It's something like my travel agent would be planning for me instead now I have all the options from which I can choose from in this book. Plus all I have to do is get to the place I like, and the book tells me all I can do there and where I can go from there to maximize my stay. Very useful travel buddy!
In desperate need of a copy editor. English does not appear to be the authors native language . It's like .reading a Russian troll on Facebook.
Since only being able to travel to the UK, It would have been better to have traveled to central and eastern Europe when I had the time. And since I'm set for a second Eurotrip, I'm definitely taking this book with me. It's simple, easy, and very practical to implement.
What a disappointing excuse for a travel guide Amazon should take this book OFF their book shelf it’s useless
This book is a great guide for people who want to travel to just the mayor cities in central Europe. It has clear and in depth information for the cities it includes, So if you are traveling to Budapest, Prague, Vienna or Salzburg I highly recommend it!
