At first the book is good and sonewhat easy to understand. But if your a newb to computer and technology this is kinda hard to wrap your head around. It also doesn't help that the author uses many acronyms without explaining what it means. So if you dont know anything about ccomputers or technology this is not a good intro book.

Like the previous editions, this is a practical guide that can teach the reader real-world hacking and penetration testing skills.This 6th edition has the same basic motif, but is updated for Windows 10, Linux, macOS and more; and includes an updated list of currently available hacking tools.While the reader is not expected to have a deep technical background, the book does go into some detail, as it must to provide a hands-on approach.If you are looking for a practical guide that can teach you real-world hacking and penetration testing skills, the 6th edition of Hacking for Dummies is a great resource.

I miss the good old days - back when computers were much more simpler - and easier to understand. Nowadays, you have to either be an expert on computers or know someone who is (or pay someone who is). And with everything now connected to the internet - you don't know who has access to your stuff. This book teaches you what you need to know - maybe not all or to the level of an expert, but enough to be able to do what you can (and should) do on your own. And that is probably 90% of the battle. Take your time reading through each chapter - these are written for regular people and are fairly easy to understand. Most people probably won't need to go into as much depth as the book can take you - but even if you don't, it's interesting reading. There is a nice appendix in the back that lists a lot of websites for more information and tools to use. All-in-all, I thought this book was well worth the time to read - and made me aware of some of the things I needed to change with my electronics.

I'm not the most up to date person when it comes to technology and I found this book to be easy to understand. It has a lot of good information.

This book will not teach you to be a hacker. If that's what you're looking for, this ain't it. This book is more of a "survey course" on hacking. If you are interested in the topic, the book is quite informative and thorough. If you are already an expert in the field, you will not find any new information here. This book is not for you.The greatest strength of this book is to teach you how most hackers think and operate so you can avoid their traps and all the hassles that accompany them.

It builds on each chapter so the reader can acclimate to each chapter topic. I liked the range of topics and the offering of countermeasures. Of course, it is impossible for a print book to stay up-to-date on every threat but this book gives a good overview of the main threats and how to minimize the risks of attacks.

I found this book to be very insightful with some really good tips that I can use moving forward.

When the book arrived there was a drip of hot glue stuck to the edge of the pages that I had to take off, which caused a few small tears on a couple pages. It also appears as though there is hot glue holding the top part of the cover on. I have to keep this book because I need it for classes and it is still usable, but the condition was not "good".

I am pleased with this book but I wished it would have arrived a little sooner

The copy I received has large blank spaces scattered through the book where multiple sentences simply weren't printed. This book is garbage, and Peasrson Education should be punished for having printed it.

I enjoyed reading the background on the great Australian wines and was very interested to hear how the wine industry transformed from the 1960's to the 2000's. Much of which I experienced, as a consumer, but never really understood the driving forces. It makes me wish I had paid more attention at the time and made more of an effort to enjoy the great wines that were available then at much more reasonable prices than today!

This was wasn't what I was looking for. I was surprised I was hoping it would be something a little more useful in teaching me Hebrew.

This is great for anyone that is learning and using the grammar and nitty gritty of Hebrew. I was going to use it to identify prefixes and suffixes for pronoun and possession and such, but it didn't occur to me that I was looking for it in the phonetic since I'm not really learning Hebrew, per se, but listening to Messianic praise music! I wanted a chart that gave something like, "Adon" Master, "Adonai," MY Master, Elohim = God, Eluhaynu = OUR God. Or something like that.But, I didn't want to detract from the product to deter anyone else who knows better and is buying the product for what it is. However, if anyone else is like me looking for any TRANSLITERATION (phonetic) help, this is NOT FOR YOU.

I am still both learning the material, but was at a loss to understand it until.... I looked for other materiel by these authors ONLINE. There is documentation online by them that is less comprehensive than the book (I'm pretty sure) but more thorough than the summary sheet, which you can download. All of the abbreviations and detailed verb configurations are explained in the pnline document. Without that or the book or an extensive knowledge of similar languages the beginning student will be lost! P.S. "vav" IS pronounced as a "w" by some Jewish readers from a specific area!

I bought this item for my Jewish father in law who wanted to stick an easy to read Hebrew language guide in his Bible. I put it in his stocking and he was very pleased! This item arrived quickly and it was nicely laminated. It was done well because I was able to sort of half roll it and slip it in his stocking with ease and it bended right back to flat when he pulled it out. Thanks for a great product!

very detailed, actually for where I am in my Hebrew studies this is almost to much for me to understand... but don't let that change your mind from getting it... It's very detailed and tons of information to learn in here! So, I'm excited about getting it down and learning!

Don't buy unless you can already read Hebrew bc there is no transliteration to English.

This was recommended by my Hebrew teacher. For 10 dollars is used almost every time I study. Laminated and has hole punches for 3 ring binder. Will last a long time. Has lots is useful info. Printed on both sides. Good investment if you plan on serious study of Hebrew.

About the Author

Eleanor Coerr was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan, Canada, and grew up in Saskatoon. This story is based on a real girl who lived during WWII when the US dropped an atom bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. She was a toddler at the time, but she received leukemia due to it about ten years later. She makes paper cranes in hopes that she will get better.I read this book to my sons and they really enjoyed learning some history and were sad about learning the destruction done to the children and people who survived and died because of the bomb. It really opened their eyes to understanding the pain and destruction left behind due to wars.We made origami paper cranes after finishing this book and the boys had a really nice time learning and playing with their cranes afterwards.

I purchased this book for my granddaughter who is getting married on the 23rd of Aug 2014. She has made 1000 paper cranes as the focal point of her wedding décor because of this book. I had asked her what the significance of the paper cranes were and she told me about the book so I had to go online and read up on and was completely mesmerized about the story and even more so when I learned that it was a true story. I had to purchase the book of course and the day I received it, I read it from cover to cover and had a good cry. I gave the book to my granddaughter for a wedding shower gift after learning that she did not have a copy. ThanksPat Becker

There is so much to learn from the time period, and main character Sadako. My claim for this book is: Sadako Sasaki’s life is both historical and moving, as it takes you through, the descriptive language keeps you interested, the strong emotions make you feeling so much throughout the story, and you’ll see all the heartfelt moments. In the end you will learn about perseverance and hope. This is a story about an eleven year old girl called Sadako, who lives in Hiroshima Japan. Her story takes place in 1955 around the time the atom bomb was dropped in Japan. This bomb brought a lot of radiation to Japan, and brought on the disease called ‘Leukemia’. Sadako’s life changed completely, as she spends the remainder of her life now in hospital. She has to swallow pills and have injections every day. Her life has forever changed. The book ‘Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes’ is a heartfelt story. It says in the text, “ Suddenly everything seemed to whirl around her as she sank into the ground. [...] A few minutes later she was in hospital.” (page 26) In this part of the story Sadako is getting rushed to hospital because she had a signs of Leukemia, this shows how Sadako’s life is scary, this made me feel so bad for her. (My heart melted) This book has so much descriptive language I was always so interested because of it. The author writes, “They floated out to sea like a swarm of fireflies against the dark water.” (page 30) This piece of evidence shows how descriptive and interesting this \\book can be.This story has a lot of parts with strong emotions that will fill you with emotions throughout the entire story. The text says, “Sadako realized she had Leukemia, but what she also new was that some patients recovered from the disease. She never stopped hoping she would get well soon.” (page 48) At this part of the story Sadako has realized that there’s a possibility she could recover from Leukemia. This shows how powerful these strong emotions can be.In conclusion you and the readers will learn about how Sadako inspires hope and peace to this day. I rate this book five out of five stars and two thumbs up. You’ll never be able to stop turning the pages.

Fabulous true story. Can open up discussions for students with a classmate with critical health issues. As a retired teacher who taught this book, I would recommend ongoing discussion as it is being read. Bought it for a granddaughter and included a pack of origami paper, as directions for folding the crane are in the back.

This story is inspirational.A few friends and I have taken on folding one million cranes and delivering them to the Pease Memorial Ceremony so as part of that effort I thought I should order the book telling the story of Sadako and her cranes. I ordered the wrong book by mistake. Yes it was about the same person and events but that book was such a discouragement that I doubt we would have taken on the project if this had been the book read by the others in our group.I promptly ordered the this book. The original by Eleanor Coerr entitled Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. What a difference! Yes it is the same story but this time presented in such an inspirational, hopeful way as opposed to the morose, judgmental tone of the other.

My 5 year old fell in love with this book. I was debating whether to read something so "harsh" to him (about the bombings in Japan), but in the end, I'm glad I did. The book is so well written he was just fine without having tons of pictures. He handled the material well. It was sad to read it to him, but I'm so glad I did. He learned about some of the truths of our harsh world and I think he will be a better, more well-rounded person for it. He really connected with the characters and could empathize with their struggles. I remember reading this book as a kid and loving it. I'm so surprised how well my kindergartener took this book. I'm not recommending it for most kindergarteners, my son is mature and handles things like this well. But in general, this book will encourage empathy, diversity, and kindness in any child who is exposed to it.

One of my all time favorite books. I read this as a child and bought this copy for my niece so that she, too, could read it and never be the same again, too. This is one of those books that changes a person and that it's for a young reader is more impressive.It tells the true story of a girl that develops leukemia at a young age and starts folding paper cranes because if she can fold a thousand her wish will be granted.This book is a book of hope and desperation and a reminder of the horrors of war as her cancer was a result, albeit many years later, of the US bombing of Hiroshima when she was just two.
