At first the book is good and sonewhat easy to understand. But if your a newb to computer and technology this is kinda hard to wrap your head around. It also doesn't help that the author uses many acronyms without explaining what it means. So if you dont know anything about ccomputers or technology this is not a good intro book.

Came as described very fast. New with no damage.

Even though it’s now well over 50 years old; anyone needing to look up the English translation of a Latin word can use the 1968 edition of Cassell's New Latin English Dictionary. In the dynamic world of computer security, things are constantly changing, and using a reference that is but 2 years old can be outdated, or not have information about technologies that are now ubiquitous. Think Internet of Things (IoT) and you will understand. Now in its 6th edition, Kevin Beaver’s Hacking for Dummies carries on his tradition of giving the reader an in the trenches guide which they can use to ensure that their organization's information systems and networks are secure. The first edition came out 2004 and information security has seen significant changes. Like the previous editions, this is a practical guide that can teach the reader real-world hacking and penetration testing skills. This 6th edition has the same basic motif, but is updated for Windows 10, Linux, macOS and more; and includes an updated list of currently available hacking tools. While the reader is not expected to have a deep technical background, the book does go into some detail, as it must to provide a hands-on approach. If you are looking for a practical guide that can teach you real-world hacking and penetration testing skills, the 6th edition of Hacking for Dummies is a great resource.

I miss the good old days - back when computers were much more simpler - and easier to understand. Nowadays, you have to either be an expert on computers or know someone who is (or pay someone who is). And with everything now connected to the internet - you don't know who has access to your stuff. This book teaches you what you need to know - maybe not all or to the level of an expert, but enough to be able to do what you can (and should) do on your own. And that is probably 90% of the battle. Take your time reading through each chapter - these are written for regular people and are fairly easy to understand. Most people probably won't need to go into as much depth as the book can take you - but even if you don't, it's interesting reading. There is a nice appendix in the back that lists a lot of websites for more information and tools to use. All-in-all, I thought this book was well worth the time to read - and made me aware of some of the things I needed to change with my electronics.

I'm not the most up to date person when it comes to technology and I found this book to be easy to understand. It has a lot of good information.

This book will not teach you to be a hacker. If that's what you're looking for, this ain't it. This book is more of a "survey course" on hacking. If you are interested in the topic, the book is quite informative and thorough. If you are already an expert in the field, you will not find any new information here. This book is not for you.The greatest strength of this book is to teach you how most hackers think and operate so you can avoid their traps and all the hassles that accompany them.

"Hacking For Dummies (For Dummies (Computer/Tech))" by Kevin Beaver is an informative book on the topic of hacking and how to protect against it. It builds on each chapter so the reader can acclimate to each chapter topic. I liked the range of topics and the offering of countermeasures. Of course, it is impossible for a print book to stay up-to-date on every threat but this book gives a good overview of the main threats and how to minimize the risks of attacks.

I found this book to be very insightful with some really good tips that I can use moving forward.
