Maddie & Ben grew up together. He was her brother’s best friend & Maddie’s first crush, one she never grew out of. Just when Maddie is deciding to give up on Ben & try to start a relationship with someone, Ben’s situation changes. Talk about a man out of his depth. Ben is suddenly his niece Felicia’s guardian. Her mother died & his brother, Felicia’s father, is in prison. Maddie steps up to help him & it causes him to see her in a new light. Add in drama regarding the community garden & the people opposed to it. Can Ben & Maddie navigate everything safely?I loved the fact that this was not an “instant” love. Ben & Maddie had known each other for years. I enjoyed the interactions among the characters since it only adds additional understanding. The characters are the same as from Book 2 since they are a group of friends. This can easily be read as a stand alone though. You just gain character depth if you read it in order. This was a sweet romance!

I could hardly tear myself away from the book, but that's totally normal when it comes to Heather Tullis's books because I love them all so much! This book follows "Hello Again" (Book 1 of In the Garden) and it's not necessary to read the books in order if you happened upon this one first. The first one does give background on getting the location for the garden secured and the fun and problems that entailed, but if you missed it you can totally enjoy Maddie's story. But of course, you should go back and read "Hello Again" because it is fantastic.I'm also a teacher so I could really feel Maddie's love for the garden and her students and the heart that she put into the project hoping that it would be a success. The push-back from the gang had me captivated and I knew in my heart that the good would overtake evil (that's what we all hope for) but the tension kept me on my toes.Ben is a little clueless at first when it comes to Maddie and accepting help to care for his niece Felicia. The eight-year old moves in with him at the beginning after her mother dies and Ben becomes her guardian and he has to shuffle his bachelor life around to become her full time guardian as well as deal with some unexpected challenges that pop up out of the blue.Ben and Maddie have been friends for years, well been in each other's lives for years because Ben is best friends with Maddie's brother Jason. I enjoyed their relationship and seeing them fall in love with each other.I love series because I can get more involved with characters and you feel my addiction :o)I'm already totally looking forward to seeing Jason & Adelyn and Comfry and ????

The second book in the series. Just as good as the first one. Maddie teaches 3rd grade, and the of is across the street from the community garden. They have a greenhouse now and the 3 3rd grade classes are planting vegetables in it as part of their curriculum. Some gang members want the land back and have threatened people so few have signed for for plots. Maddie's brother 's best frie nd is a cop, and he helps at the garden to discourage the gangs. He also just got custody of his 7 year old niece since her father is in prison and her mother o'd. Maddie, who has had a crush on him for years, helps with her when his shifts change around. Finally, he noticed her and now there are 2 weddings to plan. Very good book.

Maddie and Ben have known each other for years. Maddie's family has been a better family to him then his own. Maddie has had a crush but did nothing while growing up. Ben is a police officer and Maddie is a teacher. His world gets turned upside down when his young niece ends up with him. He learns the joy of raising a young girl. Maddie helps him. It is a fun, crazy story with his trying to learn. Love the characters in the book and the wonderful garden. They are so sweet together.

As just a read. It was ok. But as a love story it was terrible. They date for one month and she is ready for marriage? They have kissed 3 times. And his niece calls her miss. McCormick the whole book???????? And who wants the description of a house of her friend in detail??? Now the next book is about her wacko friend. Nope

I loved this book. I loved Ben he was so great to Felicia and so patient with her as he took her into his home. Ben had such good instincts on caring from her from the get go.Maddie is a fun girl who's been pinning for Ben for way too long. When Felicia joins her class she is so sweet to her and Ben. I loved learning more about the green house project. She has some spunk for sure I loved when she finally told Bed don't you ever wonder... great writing!I loved this story overall. I was so impatient for things to be wrapped up in the end. Love this series.

A great sweet story to curl up with - Maddie and Ben are such lovely characters - you really love going on this journey with them.Little Felicia is adorable and I love how Ben really steps up and takes seriously his role of father and protector,Really great hills and valleys in their journey - but a wonderful resolution.I love Heather Tullis and am a great fan of the Di Carlo series - so I am loving this new "neighbourhood".

The beginning was a little bit slow. I liked all of the characters from basically the beginning, but the romance was a little bit slow in coming. I was satisfied though throughout the book for the most part, but when the romance came it , CAME! I rarely cry during books but this one almost brought me to tears. It was clean but passionate, the best kind of romance. I commend you Mrs. Tullis. Totally worth the money
