The book is poor. It includes many topics but enough details are not given, and it lacks explanations and examples.

Great!

An optimization textbook that covers the basics (linear programming, constraints, duality) with extreme detail. It is difficult to read, even with a graduate level background and familiarity with optimization. The math notation is confusing, the text is incredibly dense, and it is written assuming a very high level of mathematical training. There are very few pictures to describe what is going on; the reader is told that certain formulae mean certain things (are ellipses, clearly b separates f and g, ...) but the visualization is left to the imagination.The authors seem to have their stuff down but it doesn't carry over well to the reader, at least in my opinion.

Great illustrations and the pages are thick and durable. Our kid is pretty gentle with books, but I still appreciate the thick pages.The toddler loves to say "no!" for each misbehaving dinosaur. Reading this book has not resulted in her adopting any of the depicted bad behaviors.One reviewer mentioned all the dinos were depicted as "he." This is true. But I have another book by Yolen and all the dinos in there are "she." Both misbehaving and well behaved.As an adult, I love how the name of each type of dinosaur is included.

I reviewed another one of these books - they're great, and my little dinosaur loves it. Jane Yolen has several books out there, and I think we own all of them. The story is great, and the graphics are well done. We've read this story at least 100 times in two weeks. The story is shorter, so you don't have to worry about staying up all night reading the story. Youtube has videos of people reading the story, so it'll give you a break from reading the story over and over again. Great book(s) for your little dinosaur lover.

Simple, wonderful book for bedtime rituals. Both my almost four year old daughter and almost 2 year old son love it. My daughter especially can relate having done almost all of the things that good little dinosaurs​ don't do. We have a nice laugh about it every time I read it her. It's my son's favorite-I'm not allowed to skip this one at night.

My kiddo loves the How Do Dinosaurs books! I couldn't figure out why this one was twice the price of the others-- for those wondering it is a large hardback with paper pages while the cheaper books are smaller all board books. I will just have to make sure my kiddo doesn't rip the pages :-) The story line is very cute and VERY accurate of what small children do when it's time for bed (crying, stomping, pouting and yes, hollarin' for ONE MORE BOOK! ). I highly recommend this book. I also love that they labeled each one of the dinosaurs with their scientific name so when my little one gets a bit older we can read the book AND identify the type of dinosaur on each page.

Such a cute book. I love all the "How Do Dinosaurs" books by these authors. If your little one loves dinos, these are great fun to read for us and them!

I have bought a lot of these books! My boys love them and this is my personal fave. We read these books at least twice a week if not more and it never gets old! I recommend this book for any child!

When my son was 2, we really struggled to get him into a bedtime routine. And then a dear friend gave us this book as a gift. On the very first night we read it to him, my son loved the book. The second half of the book talks about dinosaurs tucking in their tails, turning off the light, etc. My son followed along and actually looked forward to going to bed each night. We faithfully read it to him every night for about 6 months as our last bedtime book. No fights to go to bed...life was heavenly! Now that he's 4, we still read this book quite often and we have found others in this series enjoyable as well.

All 5 of my children have loved this book. It's been read so much, I've had to but three of them over the years! The pictures are wonderful and the story is cute, quick and fun. All the dinosaur books in this series are wonderful!

Lately I've been the queen of making excuses and conclusions about why my life goes a certain way, and reading this simple and effective book kind of opened my eyes to the obstacles I create for myself when I give myself so much constraint on time and conditions because of my caretaker role. I felt really good and had some clarity on how to move forward confidently in my life after reading this, without making excuses or apologizing, but by making the best of what I do have and actually being open to opportunities that present themselves. I also love that the summaries are also great affirmations just to look at and reread gives me more confidence in myself and the power of a woman unrestrained and unapologetic in the world.

She also talks about different ventures she tried, and how people reacted to them. She talked about how people reacted to those ventures. Overall this is a self esteem book that empowers people especially young girls. She wants everyone to live their dreams.

Speaking to you like one girlfriend to another, Hollis encourages you to be your best self, to take charge of your life and to find your happy! This is an inspirational read for women and at times it did sound a little preachy and overly optimistic but that's the point! A lot of this book is setting goals, how to stick to them, and accomplish those set goals.

Girl Stop Apologizing is a motivational and self-help book that is written for a predominantly female audience. It covers day-to-day experiences that border on work, productivity and personal life. The core message of this book is to come to the understanding that they are unique and special.

This book is a must read for beginners and veterans in the oil and gas industry. Much knowledge can be gained from the detailed accounts, failures, and successes of an ever changing, dynamic field of employment! It is written in a captivating way, and I couldn't put it down. I will personally benefit from it, for the rest of my career !

I wish I had read this 30 years ago. A must for young (and old) who work in the oil patch. The author has done a super job of telling oilfield stories as a teaching tool.

Ive worked with the majors and the independents and have experienced both sides of "safety programs". I have no doubt that I will use much of the information in the years to come. This book helps to provide a little perspective as far as safety is concerned. Its also quite funny! Company names and company MENs names have been changed in clever ways. AND tagged "something" high up hole days after running an RBP....lets beat on it!!!!..........classic! This should be required reading for everyone in this industry. Its easy to follow and fairly simple to understand. Thanks again Matthew!

Author has a good grasp of field and office operations and politics. Good representation and history of the state of the oil field safety culture. About the Author

Nathaniel Philbrick grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and earned a BA in English from Brown University and an MA in America Literature from Duke University, where he was a James B. Duke Fellow. He was Brown University’s first Intercollegiate All-American sailor in 1978, the same year he won the Sunfish North Americans in Barrington, RI. After working as an editor at Sailing World magazine, he wrote and edited several books about sailing, including The Passionate Sailor, Second Wind, and Yaahting: A Parody.   In 1986, Philbrick moved to Nantucket with his wife Melissa and their two children. In 1994, he published his first book about the island’s history, Away Off Shore, followed by a study of the Nantucket’s native legacy, Abram’s Eyes. He was the founding director of Nantucket’s Egan Maritime Institute and is still a research fellow at the Nantucket Historical Association. In 2000, Philbrick published the New York Times bestseller In the Heart of the Sea, which won the National Book Award for nonfiction. The book is the basis of the forthcoming Warner Bros. motion picture “Heart of the Sea,” directed by Ron Howard and starring Chris Hemsworth, Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson, Benjamin Walker, Ben Wishaw, and Tom Holland, which is scheduled for release in March, 2015. Everybody I the early 1600s had a very hard time in North America. The Native American with the introduction of European diseases and broken promises, as well as the European settlers with their lack of knowledge and poor supplies. This book gives an excellent description of the many hardships as well as the alliances that kept changing. Especially, the fact that alliances were often founded on personal friendships and upon who had momentum at the time.

I did not like this book. I did not realize it was for "Youth" when I ordered it. It was poorly written and very choppy. Too much of the book was spent on the "wars" with the indigenous people years after the Mayflower landed and not enough on the early struggles and culture of the settlers and the indigenous people. For a book targeted toward "youth" it was a little too gory.

I love Nathaniel Phlbrick's style of writing. Seeing the New World from the actual writings of the Pilgrims and the Indians' point of view is very enriching and makes the historical struggles of both communities so realistic. The true character of the human side of all involved in settling these first colonies gives the reader a strong appreciation for what they really experienced and what spirit and courage and raw human determination of our early forefathers formed the grit that is now our American bravery and courage.

The book turned out to be a very engaging read for me. I have a Mayflower ancestor, and now have a much richer understanding of the experience of the pilgrims (both of their courage and of the devastation of the Native people). I was interested to learn that the Pilgrims admired Massasoit, the key sachem or leader with whom they had initial contact, and of their cooperative relationship. The situation degenerated in later years, and warfare and cruelty took over. This version was for young readers (ordered by mistake) but I still found it very worthwhile, and would recommend it for younger readers as well as adults who may want the shorter version.

Great story, about the Puritans in New England and the Indian wars. I learned a lot!

The Amazon Kindle version of this book is highway robbery! It cost more than the paperback version and has terrible editing. I'm not talking about an error here and there; the majority of the pages totally ignore capitalization, even in proper name. Many words are misspelled, completely changing the sentence's meaning. Unless you like to read 2nd grade grammar, do not by the Kindle version.

I enjoyed this book. I have family who came to America on the Mayflower it was good to learn more about them.The book is filled with factual information and the writing style held my interest.I would recommend this book.

This book is incredible and full of so much detail that is interesting to read; albeit slowly. Too much to take in with fast reading. If you have to read this book for an assignment, give yourself plenty of time. There are no spark notes or anything on this factual book. There are also two versions of this novel! Beware of possible versions out there with missing pages in the middle. Maybe it was a fluke with me, but my new soft-bound copy purchased through Amazon, it was missing almost 75 pages in the middle and the binding did not reveal or indicate such. I actually emailed the publisher in order to see if there was a production run problem and told them about my book, but I never heard back from them.
